Le passage frontière Laos - Vietnam, encore une fois, c'est très bien passé malgré les commentaires souvent négatif qu'on a pu en lire sur internet. On a rencontré beaucoup de voyageurs qui nous disaient ne pas avoir aimé le Vietnam, le coté communiste se faisant ressentir dans l'antipathie des gens... Donc avec tout ces commentaires on partait au Vietnam avec certains à-priori. Mais ça nous montre encore une fois qu'il ne faut pas se fier aux jugements des autres mais plutôt essayer de se faire sa propre opinion!
On prend le bus tôt au matin sur Takhek. Comme pour le Laos, on ne réserve notre bus que jusqu'au poste frontière. Une fois arrivées au poste de sortie du Laos, nous remarquons que tout les locaux glissent l'équivalent de 1$ dans leur passeport. On n'en fait rien et on attend de voir si les douaniers vont nous dire quelque chose.. et non, rien de rien, aucune demande de pot-de-vin, on reçoit notre cachet directement. Notre chauffeurs et nos compagnons de bus nous attendent, avec le sourire. Il faut dire que le no-men's land est plutôt vaste et perdu en pleine montagne, on est contente de les rejoindre. Même chose au post frontière Vietnamien, chacun glisse son petit pot-de-vin dans le passeport sauf les deux petites blanches mais ça ne dérange personne. On demande finalement pour continuer le trajet dans notre bus, à destination de Dong Hoi, ville située au centre du Vietnam. Le trajet est incroyable et les paysages me rappellent parfois le Népal pour lequel j'avais eu un si grand coup de coeur. Les gens dans les villages, dans les rues, ont l'air souriant, simplement heureux. On s'installe juste pour la nuit au Buffalo Pub Hostel, afin de pouvoir partir dès le lendemain pour Hoi An. L'accueil y est très chaleureux, loin de ce que l'on redoutait! Comme quoi, rien de tel que sa propre expérience pour se faire une opinion!

Notre bus démarre tôt au matin. Les transports au Vietnam restent généralement de qualité et plutôt bon marché. Il est très facile d'y voyager! On réserve deux nuits sur Hoi An, en ajoutant quelques dollars de plus que d'habitude, on se fait plaisirs pour un hostel avec piscine intérieur, le Vinh Huy hotel. Encore une fois, ne pas se fier aux commentaires. Pour 16$ (pour deux!) au Vietnam, il ne faut pas espérer le grand luxe, même lorsqu'on y parle de piscine. L'hotel est tout de même plaisant, et le personnel très sympathique. Cependant notre avis sur Hoi An reste mitigé... certes, la vieille ville a son charme, et nous offre de belles opportunités shopping! Malheureusement, cette charmante ville des lanternes, lumineuse et colorée, tourne vite au parc d'attraction européen tant elle est envahie de touristes, ce qui dénature vraiment le lieu. C'est dommage... Lorsque vous logez dans le centre, la plage est assez loin, environs 8 km. Encore une fois, on opte pour l'option vélo. La circulation est dence et chaotique, bien plus qu'au Cambodge ou Laos! restez vigilant! Déception également sur la plage... Certes l'endroit pourrait être joli, mais les travaux envahissant et les nombreux hotels de luxe nous empêchent de profiter pleinement de l'endroit. Maintenant, lors de votre passage sur Hoi An, n'hésitez tout de même pas à profiter du marché de nuit, ainsi que d'une dégustation de cao lâu (bol de nouilles épaisses avec des tranches de porc, légumes frais, soja, croûtons et crêpe de riz) et de les banh xeo (crêpes jaunes croustillantes au porc et aux crevettes, à enrouler dans une feuille de riz avec de la salade) directement sur le marché central! Je repasserai par Hoi An avec T., lors de nos "vacances" en couple, en redescendant du nord vers le sud. Mais il n'y a rien de plus à ajouter que ce qui a déjà été dit.
Laos- Vietnam border crossing , onece again, we went well despite with all the negative comments we have read on the internet. We met many travelers who told us they didn't like Vietnam, the Communist side is being felt in the antipathy of the people ... So with all these comments we left Vietnam with some à-priori. But it shows us once again that we must not trust the other judgments, but rather try to form his own opinion!
We took the bus early in the morning from Takhek. As for Laos, we only reserve our bus until the border post. Once arrived at the exit station of Laos, we noticed that locals slide the equivalent of $ 1 in their passport. We did nothing and wait to see if customs will tell us something .. and no, nothing at all, no demand of bride, we get our stamp directly. Our drivers and our bus companions awaiting for us with a smile. I must say that the no-men's land is vast and rather lost in the mountains, so we are happy to join them. Same with Vietnamese border post, each slides his bridge in the passport except the two small white girls, but it doesn't bother anyone. We finally asked to continue the ride in our bus to Dong Hoi, a city located in central Vietnam. The ride is amazing and the scenery sometimes remind me of Nepal for whom I had a great crush. People in the villages, on the streets, are smiling, just happy.
We just settled for the night at Buffalo Pub Hostel, in order to leave the next day to Hoi An. The welcome is very warm, far from what we feared! Like what, nothing better then your own experience to form an opinion!

Our bus starts early in the morning. Transportation in Vietnam usually remain quality and is rather cheap. It is very easy to travel there! We reserve two nights in Hoi An, adding a few dollars more than usual to enjoy a hostel with indoor pool, Vinh Huy Hotel. Again, don't trust the comments. For $ 16 (for two!) In Vietnam, do not expect great luxury, even when it is about a swimmingpool. The hotel is pleasant and very friendly staff.
However, our review of Hoi An remains mitigated ... certainly, the old city has its charm, and offers great shopping opportunities! Unfortunately, this charming city lanterns, bright and colorful, quickly turns into a European theme park as it is overrun with tourists, which really denatures the place. Too bad...
When you stay in the center, the beach is quite far, around 8 km. Again, we opt for the cycling option. Traffic is chaotic and dence, much more than in Cambodia or Laos! stay alert! Disappointment also on the beach ... While the place might be pretty, but the intrusive work and the many luxury hotels prevent us to enjoy the place.
Now when you visit Hoi An, do not hesitate to enjoying the night market, as well as a tasting lâu cao (bowl of thick noodles with sliced pork, vegetables, soy, croutons and rice pancake) and the banh xeo (crispy yellow pancakes pork and shrimps, to roll in rice paper with salad) directly in the central market!
I'll be back in Hoi An with T. during our couple "vacation", when going down from the north to the south. But there is nothing more to add than what has already been said.
