Adam's peak, c'est encore une belle aventure! Lors de mon changement de bus à Hatton, on me présente le patron de la White House Guesthouse, située à Nallathanniya, l'endroit où je souhaitais me rendre. Il m'embarque gratuitement et on sympathise en discutant dans la voiture le long du trajet. Sa guesthouse est située au pied de la montagne, facile pour démarrer l'ascension de cette montagne au plus tôt dans la nuit. Je m'installe chez lui, dans une merveilleuse petite chambre avec balcon sur la rivière. C'est le seul établissement qui n'est pas juste un bloc de béton monté le long de la route, mais disposé en contre-bas, dans un magnifique petit jardin, où l'on trouve les divers petites habitations. Un endroit magnifique, avec un coin baignade dans la rivière, un très bon restaurant. Une chance que le patron me fait une petite fleure sur le prix, la saison touristique s'étant calmée ( Après Vesak, les pélerinages s'arrêtent.)
J'y resterais une petite semaine. Je me lance dans l'ascension du Adam's Peak, qui est un lieu de pèlerinage pour 4 religions et donc un lieu unique au monde. Pour les Chrétiens et les Musulmans, la grande empreinte de pied qui se trouve à son sommet correspond au pied d'Adam, pour les Bouddhistes c'est le pied de Bouddha et pour les hindouistes c'est le pied de Shiva.
C'est une ascension de 5500 marches qui démarre vers 2h du matin pour se terminer vers 5h15. J'ai cru ne jamais y arriver, mais je me suis surpassée! J'ai gravis une montagne et cotoyé des nuages orageux! Malgré une légère pluie, j'ai la chance de profiter d'un magnifique levé de soleil ainsi que d'un magnifique arc-en-ciel au dessus des nuages. La vue est incroyable, et je suis comblée de ce défis relevé!
Les jours restant, je profite de diverses balades avec le patron, au travers des plantations de thé, à voir les plus belles cascades et à manger dans les villages environnant, auprès de ses amis. J'y passe un moment magnifique et je ne me suis jamais sentie aussi bien dans un tel environnement. Je suis littéralement tombée amoureuse du Sri Lanka! Cet endroit me fait rêver! Les photos ne suffisent pas, il faut le vivre pour le comprendre!
Mais toute bonne chose a une fin et je dois me décider à retrouver C. et à profiter encore un peu du voyage. Mais voici encore la preuve que rien n'arrive par hasard. Chaque décision, ses conséquences, peut vous apporter parfois de magnifiques surprises! Tout est lié!

Adam's peak, another wonderful experience! During my bus transfert in Hatton, I am introduced the owner of the White House Guesthouse, located Nallathanniya, where I wanted to go. He embarks for free me and we sympathize chatting in the car along the road. The guesthouse is situated at the foot of the mountain, easy to start the ascent of this mountain earlier in the night. I choosed to stay there, in a wonderful small room with balcony on the river. It is the only building that is not just a concrete block mounted along the road, but located down there, in a beautiful little garden, where there are various small houses. A beautiful place, with a swimming area in the river, a very good restaurant. Good point the owner makes me a little reduction on price, the tourist season was going over (after Vesak, pilgrimages stop.)
I would stay about a little week. I start the ascent of Adam's Peak, which is a pilgrimage site for 4 religions and therefore a unique place in the world. For Christians and Muslims, the large footprint that is up to the summit is from Adam's foot, for Buddhists it is the foot of Buddha and for the Hindu it is the foot of Shiva.
It is a climb of 5,500 steps which starts around 2 am and ends at 5:15. I thought I would never get there, but I surpassed! I climbed a mountain and rubbed shoulders with thunderclouds! Despite a light rain, I have the chance to enjoy a beautiful sunrise and a beautiful rainbow sky above the clouds. The view is amazing, and I'm fully happy with this accomplished challenge!
During the last days, I walked around with the owner, through the tea plantations, to see the most beautiful waterfalls in the area and surrounding villages, to eat with his friends. I spend a wonderful time and I've never felt better in such an environment. I literally fell in love with the Sri Lanka! This place makes me dream! The pictures are not enough, you have to live it to understand it! But all good things must end and I have to go back to C. and still enjoy the rest of the trip. But here is the proof that nothing happens by hazard. Every decision, its consequences, can bring you some wonderful surprises! We are all connected!
