Bruxelles - Antananarivo (Madagascar), me voilà!

En résumé :

1h20 de train Bruxelles -Charles de Gaulle,

8h de vol Paris-Nairobi (Kenya) a coup de climatisation trop forte et de plateau repas qui donnent mal au ventre, le tout entre 2 gosses qui pleuraient par intermittence tout les heures, pas très reposant au vu des courtes dernières nuits auxquelles j'ai eu droit...

Ensuite 3h pour Nairobi -Tana.

Brussels - Antananarivo (Madagascar), here I am! In summary : 1:20 train Brussels -Charles de Gaulle, 8 h flight Paris-Nairobi (Kenya) with strong air-co and meal tray that give me stomach ache, all of that between 2 kids crying intermittently all times, not very refreshing given the recent short nights that I 'had...

Then got 3 hours for Nairobi -Tana.

Passeport et visa obtenu en une demi-heure à l'arrivée, gratuit pour 30 jours!

Attention a avoir votre vaccin polio et fièvre jaune! Également votre billet de sortie comme preuve, ils le demandent même à l'embarquement! (Histoire de pas se faire avoir comme en Thaïlande ^_^ voir l'article )

Ensuite comme je m'en doutais pas de navette ADEMA a 2h du matin... Mais je découvre directement la gentillesse malgache en partageant un taxi avec Miel et son fils René de 1,5ans. Miel de demande une participation pour le principe qui est le prix de la navette (10 000ar ~ - de 3€) et me dépose directement à mon hôtel, le Niaouly, où m'attend une chambre sans fenêtre mais confortable pour 9$ la nuit... Je redécouvre la joie des piqures de moustiques aussi grosses que des balles de ping pong ! Wouhouuuu ça m'avait pas manqué !

Attention,Have your polio and yellow fever vaccine! Also your ticket out as a proof, they even ask befor boarding! (History of not being cheated as in Thailand ^ _ ^ see article)

Then as I was sure there was no ADEMA shuttle at 2am ... But I discovered directly Malagasy kindness by sharing a cab with Honey and her son René,1,5 year. Honey asked me for a principle participation which is the price of the shuttle (10 000ar ~ - 3 €) and drops me directly to my hotel, the Niaouly, where my room is waiting for me, a windowless one but comfortable for $ 9 night ... I rediscovered the joy of mosquito bites as big as ping pong balls! Wouhouuuu I didn't miss it!

patron du Niaouly hôtel, à Antananarivo (Madagascar ) :

Suite a mon mail lui expliquant mon projet volontariat découverte a travers l'Afrique, la générosité de Laurent me pousse a passer 3 nuits dans son établissement.

Arrivée à l'hôtel à 3h du matin, je suis malgré tout chaleureusement accueillie!

On m'installe dans une petite chambre à 9$, sans fenêtre mais très chaleureuse et propre. Douche et toilettes nickel, chambre spacieuse et bien aménagée! Le lit... peut sembler dur pour ceux qui n'ont pas l'habitude des aléas du voyage, mais il me convient très bien!

Au matin, savourer un café sur la terrasse ensoleillée est un plaisirs, avec sa vue plongeante sur la capitale! La partie bar-restaurant est très agréable avec son petit coin salon. La nourriture y est bonne et on peut déjà avoir un chouette petit plat pour moins de 2€. Certes manger dans les hotely de rue revient beaucoup moins cher mais il est bon de se poser là le soir après une bonne journée d'excursion!

L'équipe du Niaouly est également très serviable, c'est véritablement un endroit où l'on se sent bien. Laurent a ouvert cet établissement en 2008 après avoir quitté la france pour aller travailler à Madagascar, dans l'exploitation des gisements de rubis avec l'une de ses connaissance. Ce projet est malheureusement vite tombé à l'eau. Il aurait pu choisir de rentrer en France, mais Madagascar, qu'il ne connaissait pourtant pas à l'époque, lui a donné envie de rester.

Après avoir remis à neuf le Niaouly de ses mains, avec l'aide de clients volontaires, Laurent tient désormais un établissement simple, sans chichi, sympathique... A l'image de son propriétaire! Interview with Laurent, Hotel Niaouly's owner in Antananarivo (Madagascar):

Following my email explaining my volunteering project across Africa, the generosity of Laurent pushes me to spend 3 nights in his establishment. Arrival at the hotel at 3am, I'm still warmly welcomed!

I settle down in a small room at $ 9, windowless but very warm and clean. Shower and toilet nickel, spacious and well appointed! The bed ... may sound harsh for those who do not usually Travellers hazards, but it suits me!

In the morning, enjoy a coffee on the sunny terrace is a pleasure, with its commanding view of the capital! The bar-restaurant part is very nice with its small seating area. The food is good and we can already have a nice little dish for less than € 2. While eating in street hotely is much cheaper but it is good to land there in the evening after a good day trip!

Niaouly's team is also very helpful, this is truly a place where we feel good.

Laurent opened this establishment in 2008 after leaving France to work in Madagascar, in the exploitation of ruby with one of his knowledge. This project is unfortunately quickly fell apart. He could have chosen to return to France, but Madagascar, he didn't know at the time, made him want to stay. Having refurbished the Niaouly of his hands, with the help of volunteers customers, Laurent now holds a simple establishment without frills, friendly ... Just like its owner! Tana est bien évidemment une grosse ville avec tout ses inconvénients. Y rester une journée est amplement suffisent. Vous devrez bien assez souvent y retourner pour vos diverses correspondances de taxis brousse!

Au réveil, du haut de la colline, on aperçoit déjà les routes embouteillées. Et en effet on se retrouve vite à frôler les bus et les taxis parce que les trottoirs sont remplis de monde. Je m'en vais me perdre dans la ville avec un but ultime: voir le lac Anosy. Après m'être perdue dans les marchés ...et avoir profité de dégustations locales, tout en m'étant bien éloigner du lac, j'essaie tant bien que mal de rejoindre celui-ci! A force de pots d'échappement trop abondant, et d'une première tentative de vol loupée (attention à vos sacs!! surtout avenue de l'indépendance), je quitte les rues pour les ruelles et je tombe sur ma première belle rencontre. Un "bonjour, ça va?", sur une petite place déserte en plein soleil me fait rencontrer Lanto , "lentement" en français. Un homme charmant et souriant avec qui je discute pendant près d'une heure, ancien guide a vélo des campagnes environnantes de tana. Il me mènera ensuite au fameux lac, clôturant cette journée sur un beau sentiment de convivialité!

De retour a mon hôtel, je passe la soirée en compagnie de A., qui m'avait contacté via couchsurfing. Un bon repas accompagné de rhum arrangé afin de découvrir la culture locale!

LANTO

Tana is obviously a big city with all its disadvantages. Stay there one day is enough. You will often return for your various correspondences with brousse taxis!

Wake up on the top of the hill, we already see bloked roads. And indeed we find ourselves quickly touching buses and taxis because the sidewalks are filled with people. I'm lost in the city with an ultimate goal: see the lake Anosy. After I get lost in the markets ... and taking advantage of local tastings, I was far away from the lake, but I try somehow to join it! Because of too much car's smoke, and a first steeling attempt missed (watch your bags !! especially in Independence Avenue), I leave the streets for the alleys, and I came across my first good meeting. A "hello, how are you?", on a small deserted place in the sun makes me meet Lanto, "slowly" in French. A charming and smiling man with whom I talk for almost an hour, old bike guide in the surrounding countryside of tana. He then leads me to the famous lake, ending the day on a beautiful feeling of friendliness! Back to my hotel, I spend the evening with A., who contacted me through couchsurfing. A good meal accompanied by rhum arrangé to experience the local culture!

Lac Anosy

Le lendemain, nous sommes partis, avec Y., rencontré à l'hôtel, et grâce à A. jusqu'au lac d'Itasy, à près de 3/4h de route de tana, a Ampefy. A. nous montre le terrain qu'il y possède et nous présente à la famille qui s'en occupe. On y déguste un fantastique poulet grillé tout en profitant du cadre agréable qui nous entoure. Les alentours de Tana, dans les plateaux, sont tout en collines et en cultures de rizières et autres légumes et arbres fruitier. Un plaisirs de sortir de la ville et de se trouver au calme de la campagne! Profitez en!

The next day we left, with Y., met at the hotel, and thanks to A. to Itasy lake, about 3/4 hour drive from tana, in Ampefy. A. shows us the land he owns and presents us to the family who take care of it. A fantastic grilled chicken is eaten there while enjoying the pleasant environment around us. Tana Area in the high lands, are all in hills and paddy fields of crops and other vegetables and fruit trees. A pleasure to get out of town and to be in the quiet of the countryside! Enjoy it!
