Tamatave, ou Toamasina est une grosse ville sans véritable intérêt.
J'y avais un contact, ce qui me laissait l'opportunité de séjourner quelques jours en bord de mer, et je m'y était rendue dans l'espoir de tout de même aperçevoir quelques Lémuriens avant de quitter l'île, via le parc zoologique d'Ivoloina. Mais au final j'en ai été plutôt décue!
Tamatave or Toamasina is a big city without interest. I had a contact there, leaving me the opportunity to stay a few days by the sea, and I also went there with the hope of seing a few Lemurs before leaving the island, via the zoologic parc of Ivoloina. But in the end I have been rather disappointed!
La plage n'est pas des plus agréable, avec sa vue sur l'un des plus gros port commercial de l'île. Et le parc, qui s'avérait être l'un des moins cher de mon guide, m'a finalement couté le prix d'un parc national, et tout ça pour se retrouver face à des lémuriens plus en cage qu'en semi-libertée. J'étais également horrifiée de constater que la plupart d'entre eux, en dehors du fait d'être fou à force d'enfermement, était très mal en point et complètement galeux! Le seul attrait du parc: un petit coin baignade sous la cascade...
Je ne recommande donc aucunement cet endroit à qui que ce soit, boycottez-le un maximum afin de sponsoriser plûtot les parcs nationaux qui en valent véritablement la peine!
The beach is not very pleasant, with its view on one of the largest commercial port of the island. And the park, which turned out to be one of the cheapest in my guide book, was finally the price of a national park, and all that to face lemurs into cages instead of half freedom. I was also horrified to find that most of them, apart from being crazy because of confinement, were in very bad shape and completely mangy! Only good point of the parc: a small swimming area with waterfall...
I do no recommend this place to anyone, boycott it in order to sponsor national parks that really worth it!
Le point positif que je garde de Tamatave? Les belles rencontres que j'y ai faites! Les malgaches sont incroyables! J'espère que vous saurez les apprécier tout autant que moi!
The positive thing I remember of Tamatave? The beautiful meetings that I have made! The Malagasy are amazing! I hope you will enjoy them as much as I did!
