Pui dans son atelier
On remonte par train de nuit vers le Nord, dans les environs de Chiang Mai pour une petite semaine de volontariat avec les hommes, afin de leur faire partager notre doux quotidien.
On trouve une chouette petite ferme qui nous semble sympa via HELPX et en effet on accroche directement avec notre hôte, qui a une personnalité bien tranchée. D'un naturel très joyeux, Pui est plus bonne enfant profiteuse que travailleuse.
La quantité de travail est de maximum trois heures par jour et on s'y amuse beaucoup. On doit patauger dans des bassines de boue afin de réaliser des briques en terre cuite. Une fois le travail terminé, on saute se débarbouiller dans la mare à coté.
Chaque couple possède son propre Bungalow, dispersé dans le grand terrain agricole appartenant à la famille. Lorsqu'on ne travail pas, on bricole, on apprend à cuisiner, on va faire les marchés, se balader près des cascades ou encore suivre les cours de Salsa à Chiang Mai. En bref, on se la coule douce.
On fêtera Noël auprès de Pui et son groupe d'amis expat, autour d'un bon feu avant de reprendre la route. On aurait aimé aller plus au nord, mais en pleine période de Noël, tout est full: train, bus, guesthouse,... donc en gros on ne peut plus que redescendre. Qu'à cela ne tienne, c'est reparti! Il faut atteindre les îles pour le nouvel an!
We moved by night train to the north, near Chiang Mai for a short week of volunteering with our men, to make them share our sweet daily routine. There is a cute little farm that seems nice via HelpX and indeed we hang directly with our host, which has a clear-cut personality. With a very happy style, Pui is more good-profiteer than worker.
The amount of work is maximum three hours a day and lots of fun. we must wade through mud pans to make clay bricks. Once the work is finished, we can jump and wash ourself in the pond nearby.
Each couple has its own Bungalow, dispersed in the large agricultural land owned by the family. When does not work, you tinker, you learn to cook, we'll do the markets, wander near waterfalls or follow Salsa courses in Chiang Mai. In short, we do it very quiet.
We will celebrate Christmas with Pui and his group of expat friends, around a good fire before continuing road. We would have liked to go further north, but in the midst of Christmas, everything is full: train, bus, guesthouse, ... so basically we can only goback down. Never mind, here we go again! we must reach the islands for the new year!
